Humans stayed at home because of the coronavirus, and the rats followed
As People Changed Their Behavior Because Of Coronavirus, So Did The Rats.
Charles Evans was asked to comment on the rodent problem caused by the coronavirus stay at home order. Charles said, “Rodents are opportunists, they are going to adapt so they are moving into residential homes, apartment complexes and buildings.” With the pandemic and the shutdowns, we will probably see an uptake in rodent activity in residential living. It is important to be on the lookout for any signs of intrusion to eradicate quickly but most of all effectively.
At Evans Pest Control we have a combination of years of highly trained staff as well as the latest and available technology and products used in the field to effectively perform remediation to the rodent problem. We have ongoing training for our staff to keep up with the changes in the field of rodent extermination. It is important to us that we keep our customers armed with knowledge against the fight of rodent infestations.
How Can You Tell If You Are Dealing With A Mouse Or A Rat?
House mice measure 12 to 20 cm in length, including the tail, and weigh 12 to 30 grams. They may be white, brown or gray in color. Their snouts are triangular and feature long whiskers. Mice have large, floppy ears and long, thin, hairy tails. These rodents can be found throughout the world in a variety of climates and environments. They can live up to six years in captivity though most naturally live less than a year. Mice are nocturnal, timid, social and territorial in nature.
Rats are much bigger and common in Center City Philadelphia. They are usually found near food sources, like dumpsters, in alleys, and in or near restaurants. when the shut down was in place, they were scattering, looking for food. Now they have established even more territories and continue to expand their reach within Philadelphia, and the surrounding areas.
